Patient records are retained in accordance with the Society’s Code of Ethics and any applicable legal, professional or regulatory requirements.

In most cases, records will be retained for at least seven years following your last consultation. Records relating to children will normally be retained for at least seven years after their eighteenth birthday.

After the relevant retention period has expired, records will be securely destroyed or deleted.
